Extremely likeable big bug movie with the usual group of misfits, led by slacker Cooper (Marquette), fighting to survive and head for the insects' nest on a rescue mission. A simple set up (no back story or explanation given - nor required), Infestation just gets on with it and succeeds by trying to avoid too many cliches and maintaining a light tongue-in-cheek tone throughout. The effects aren't bad for its type, there are some neat action scenes, and having Ray Wise on board as Cooper's ex-military Dad is simply a bonus. Great late night fare.

En retenant la leçon de Shaun Of The Dead, Kyle Rankin réussit une comédie horrifique rythmée, gore et à mourir de rire. =D

Giant bugs try to kill us all. God I hate it when that happens. Quite funny, but when you've seen one giant bug film, you've seen em all.

Wasn't too bad actually. I normally get bored with this B movie style horror because they often are an excuse for directors to be as lazy and cheap as possible, whilst forgetting how to make the film remotely entertaining. But I actually enjoyed this, it had some good humour balanced well with the dark and serious atmosphere, and although it didn't have the best CGI or action you'll ever see, it did it's job and kept me interested. There isn't much of an explanation of what happened before everyone woke up, but to be honest it didn't really need it, as it may have just over complicated things.

Surprisingly good effects, written well enough, acting better than one might suspect from the box cover. The ending's a huge chip on it's shoulder, but overall far better than I was expecting. Just a shame the trailer for the film shows you almost every kill in the movie.
