First film i've caught at Melbourne International Film Festival this year and was a great way to start :) A really beautiful simple film, about love and identity. I think I enjoy these types of movies so much because they explore ideas that most of us are able to relate to in some way. I'd personally love to have a day like this.

Abs brilliant, well-observed, realistic, just the right amount of drama and comedy, engaging characters and dialogue. Well-acted with a sense of real chemistry between the leads. Really end up warming to characters you would't think you liked such as viv who seems rude, obnoxiuos and mentally unstable at first but who turns out to be q vulnerable and interestingly complex. Whilst Wilson is just entirely loveable despite seeming a bit of a loser and bum at first. Shows how appearances are decieving. The ending has a bitter-sweet poignancy too and tactfully manages to avoid any cliches. The characters reminds me of Joel and Clementine in the brilliant eternal sunshine of the spotless mind aswell. Simply perfect.

I saw the first screening last year but this time around I took the subway to downtown, walked down broadway and watched the movie at the orpheum. what an experience! if you're not in l.a. this film is really a great way to experience l.a. playing itself. i am proud to say that im a card carrying member of the great sara simmonds!

To make this movie the cast through in their credit cards. It is indie to the core yet manages to capture the spirit of LA better than any movie I've seen. The dialog is very good as well. I'd recommend it to all my indie loving friends.
