One of Hugh Grant's lesser known films, and I tell you there's a reason for that. I think that Mr. Grant really failed to deliver in this one. The writing was clever enough, but the plot was not captivating enough for me. Judy Davis did a stunning job as the trouser-sporting George Sand, however, despite the star-studded cast (Bernadette Peters, Emma Watson, Hugh Grant, Judy Davis), the film left me very unenthusiastic.

Brilliant, batty, 19th century fun! Hugh Grant is actually lovable as the stiff, stuffy, snuffling Polish pianist and Judy Davis is jaw-dropping as the dashing George Sand.

Great low-key movie that feels like Masterpiece Theatre (maybe it was, I first saw it on PBS with Hugh Grant hosting before he was famous). A romantic and light movie about Chopin and George Sand's love affair.
