Import Export is a work of the utmost political importance. It is also, in its rigour and fearlessness, its sorrow and pitilessness, an outstanding artistic achievement.

this highly absorbing pseudo-documentary from Ulrich Seidl (he of the amazing Animal Love) is an asymmetric take on the brutally mundane horrors of two separate lives - the exteriors in the Ukraine and Slovakia are breathtaking, as are the cruel anodyne interiors in Vienna; the extraordinary final act in the old people's home echoes some of Frederick Wiseman's finest work

ouch....that hurt......! Ulrich Seidl is a specialist in bringing viewers of his movies in some kind of weird feeling...here it is about a guy from austria finding work in the ukraine and a girl from the ukraine and her different adventures finding work in austria. people behave bad and really rude sometimes in this movie....sometimes it looks like a documentairy, sometimes it looks very artificial.....also because of the very excellent camera work.....I think Ulrich Seidl is the most talented director from austria in these days....this movie touched a nerve and is worth seeing a 2nd and a 3rd time....
