This is, again, one of my favorite books-turned-movie. But, unlike the Virgin Suicides, this film is more uplifting than depressing, and is definitely a chick-flick. Boys beware! My only problem with it was that I felt they kept out some of the important elements of the novel, but, hey, you can't add everything, and I still think they did a pretty good job.

Based on one of my all-time favorite books by the writer of 101 Dalmations, Dodie Smith (read it!). This is a perfect movie to buy & have on the shelf for a cold winter's night when your distractions (otherwise known as husband, significant other, children) are out of the house & you can have a nice cuppa & enjoy your Anglophilia in private. Love the magic interwoven into the plot (all greate movies have this). I think the R rating is for nudity but I've seen (& heard) much worse in PG-13 movies lately.

I love this film. It's really worth watching(visually amazing to look at, good story, very good performances from the actors). I love Cassandra Mortmain and how Romola Garai performed in this movie. Henry Cavill is gorgeous. :)

Could have been something from Merchant Ivory... gotta love a good period piece.

I HATE YOU ROSE!!! You are so stupid Cassandra for rejecting poor Stephen [literally!] for pompous asshole Simon! Grr. Yay for Bill Nighy though!
