Hoosiers (1986)

Failed college coach Norman Dale gets a chance at redemption when he is hired to coach a high school basketball team in a tiny Indiana town. "I was hired to teach them the game of basketball. I did that to the best of my abilities. I apologize for nothing." There are VERY few times that I am in complete agreement with the nominations for the Academy Awards, but Dennis Hopper for Best Supporting Actor is one of them.
