David Mamet's razor sharp dialogue is center stage during this tough cop drama. 'Homicide' is a forgotten treasure that is definitely worth seeking out and embracing for the true cinematic pleasure that it is.

There's a lot to like about Homicide. But ultimately, the payoff is not worth it. However, Joe Mantegna and William H. Macy are fantastic. Also, there's an early and appropriately dark perfomance from Ving Rhames. He didn' own dogs then. Favourite line: Joe Mantegna: "Are you mad at me?" William H. Macy: "Yeah, I'm mad at you. I'm not gonna invite you to my birthday party."

My favorite Mamet film. Completely layered and unflinching. This needs a Criterion release, stat.

Plays almost like a CSI, only more intelligent. Great scenes with Macy and Mantegna.
