This is easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I watched it in disbelief. Disbelief that Emma Roberts would agree to star in it. Disbelief that people actually would give this a positive review. Disbelief that an entire movie can go without one genuine realistic (or funny) moment. Disbelief that they would spoon-feed toilet humour to Emma Roberts's fan base. If any movie deserved a negative rating, it's this embarrassing mess.

Briskly directed by John Whitesell, written by Tiffany Paulsen, Holidate won’t change your mind about the tread-worn challenges of romantic comedies, but its leads leverage their charms nicely.

Predictability doesn’t have to be a sin when it comes to the often paint-by-the-numbers world of romantic comedy, but this awkward combination of expectation and disdain for it make for a film only fleetingly worthy of celebration.
