Hitman's Wife Bodyguard is basically a repacked version of the first, though the humour and action landed a little bit more. Even with the almost constant action, it's a bore to sit through and I won't remember any of it by tomorrow.

Reynolds has made a name for himself with fun action movies and, though this isn't necessarily his strongest or most successful franchise, it does deliver laughs and an exciting ride despite Michael Bryce essentially being the same character Reynolds has played countless times before. Even if Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard is absurd, it makes for the big, dumb fun movie experience perfect for the summer season.

The star power trio of Samuel L. Jackson, Selma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds have a few funny exchanges, and there are a couple of physical shtick routines so over the top it’s as if they dusted off the Monty Python playbook for a modern-day action film — but there are far more misfires than direct comedic/dramatic hits in this blood-drenched, explosion-riddled, live-action cartoon of a film.

As with many films, part 1 was the better version but nevertheless this film has enough of what made the hitman's bodyguard so funny. Action and comedy come together flawlessly in a somewhat superficial story.

On the contrary. Don´t look for any artful visuals, blistering acting and cinema magic. This movie actually works. Although dumb enough, but i never went in to take it seriously. I'ts always fun to watch Ryan Reynolds getting his butt kicked. The humour is not really that bad either compared to other cash-in titles. Salma Hayek delivers with her foul mouth and rampant Latina personality. (I was married to a Latina once, trust me, Hayek nails it) This movie does its job what it is made to do. Entertain.
