Like most of Mel Brooks' films, it's a bit inconsistent. The funny parts are hilarious. The other parts, so-so. I think the good outweighs the bad, though. And if you haven't seen the film, you should - if for no reason other than to watch the 'Spanish Inquisition' musical number.
