After failing to save his wife from 'The Doctor', Kit Li is working as a bodyguard and secret stunt double for the cowardly martial arts film star Frankie Lane. Frankie attends an exhibition of the crown jewels of Russia at a Hong Kong hotel, and when the Doctor's gang take over the building in attempt to steal them, Kit is the only thing standing in their way. Will Frankie regain his courage? Will romance blossom between Kit and the nosy reporter? Who has the best Kung-Fu?

It's no secret that I admire Jet Li, he moves like a God and all fightscenes are perfect, so if the story is a bit lame...I don't care :)

Monday, May 31, 2010 (1995) High Risk (In Chinese with English subtitles) ACTION/ COMEDY Action and the fast pace of this film will surely be lost if seen on dubbed! Although the film is labeled as low budget in Hollywood standards - the budget was quite high at the time when it was made in Hong Kong. Wong Jing, the king of exploitation Chinese cinema response when working with popular actor Jackie Chan who draw in crowds in his native Hong Kong for "City Hunter" was said to have some misconceptions with Chan which were all expressed on this film! That was what was rumored before the China takeoover of Hong Kong! Jet Li plays stuntman with Jacky Cheung getting all the credit for all of the stunts with some amazing action creativity such as a helicopter crashing through a window with the blades slicing people up and of course Jet Li showcasing his stuff with minimal wiring. I can watch this film multiple times because of it's loads of fighting, shooting and comedy. 4/4

Not Jet Li's best, but it's fun. He's more of a side character, and it's an action comedy.

A clever idea that is never fully realised but Corey Yuen and Jet Li deliver on the action if not the story.

I went into this one expecting a straight up action film and instead found out that I was in for a bit of a comedy, as Jet Li's character is a body guard for a Jackie Chan style actor, who is in reality a bumbling fool, which was written this way after the director had a bad experience working with Chan. Great action sequences and some over the top what the hell moments make it a fun little ride, I'd say this one is well worth your time if you're an action fan. Give it a look.
