Luchino's routine morning elevator ride up from her subterranean home on level 138 to her school many stories above turns horrific when the elevator operator is ordered to pick up two passengers from floor 99, the maximum security level. What starts as psychological manipulation soon turns wholly physical as both the cruel convicts and Luchino's own dysfunctional past are unleashed. And then every passenger must fight for his or her survival.

Amatuerish production overall, but it's low budget yet highly stylized aesthetic makes it worthwhile for hardcore cyberpunk and horror fans like myself. I watched it when I was really tired, so maybe I need to give it another look.

Bad craziness. Could have been made by Terry Gilliam... had he been Japanese. Lots of bizarre flashbacks, fractured reality, unusual lighting/camera angles/etc. Interesting if you're in the right mood. Amusing dystopia of modern Japan that will be a laugh to anyone that's spent any amount of time here since the 90's.

If your going to limit 90% of your movie to the confined walls of an elevator you better make sure to do something extra special, not spend the whole time spilling blood and making each character seem weirder than they already are.

solid beginning and ending, those segments which were cyberpunk themed were good, the middle section of the movie which turned into horror and the typical current Japannese obsession with blood was boring and crap. well made and interesting for the budget it was made on.
