In 2016 the sun has turned the entire world into a scorched and barren wasteland. The humans who have survived are either resourceful or violent, and sometimes both. Marie, her little sister Leonie, and best friend Phillip, are in a car headed to the mountains - rumor has it there is water there. Along the way they meet Tom, a first-rate mechanic. But can they trust him? Fraught with deep distrust, the group is lured into an ambush where their real battle for survival begins.

What starts out as a very interesting, with a great pacing post-apocalyptic thriller à lá The Road quickly shifts gear by the 45min mark onto just straight thriller/horror which is it's biggest setback because the movie stalls and turns into just another "let's escape these evil-doers" kind of movie. The character interactions were great at first and felt realistic enough for the situations at hand. The acting was overall pretty good and the cinematography and directing was top notch with such a small budget but such a shame it shifted gears towards the end. Borrows a bit too much from The Road but lacks the intimacy and amazingly grim mood the aformentioned created.

An interesting take on the post-apocalyptic genre. Instead of nuclear fallout or zombies, our world is in ruin because of an overactive Sun that decided it was time to switch from bake to broil. With water supplies drying up society crumbled as humanity hides from scorching sunlight during the day and moving mostly around dusk and night. Since there are no mutants or zombies, the main villains in Hell are human. No water means no crops or livestock, which means cannibalism is the trending diet. The acting was good but none of the characters were too memorable. In spite being a horror movie with cannibals, there is very little if any gore, which might be explained by the strict censorship of violence in Germany regarding films and other media. The storyline itself is fairly believable, I think it might have even been a topic of worry on Doomsday Preppers. Overall Hell is a decent movie, but far from scary, with a couple moments of suspense.

Yet another dark and dreary post "something horrible happened to destroy the world" movie. In this case, it seems the Sun has gone on the fritz, and started baking the Earth. Because of this, there's death and destruction everywhere. And, as usual, people are killing each other for resources. So all this has happened before the movie begins. We just follow a few of the stragglers trying to make their way through. The movie does a good job of making you "feel" how hot it is there. These people look downright miserable. There is no happiness to be had. Well, except a slight smirk when someone pops in a CD of that 99 balloons song. Not a bad movie. It just doesn't really go anywhere in it's 90 minute run time. We do get a slight bit of hope, and I found that fitting for all that came before.

Nothing we have not seen before......dark and foreboding but borrows from other horror flicks,better horror flicks.

Could have been a really good movie, kind of confusing at the beginning but decent movie but way too short. The movie is not in English, Scandinavian I think but has English subtitles which is suckie in a way but not bad.
