An alternately humorous and sobering cautionary tale chronicling the woes of an exasperated kid smothered by a well-meaning mom in an era of omnipresent parenting.

Film is a fun story about the overbearing mom that we have all encountered! Very genuine story and heartfelt performances. A great coming of age story about figuring out just who you are on your own terms!

This film is terrible. Don't watch it. A mother applies for a gay scholarship for her son who isn't gay. It is awful.

What should have been a nice little comedy is overwhelmed by Nia Vardalos who doesn't come across as overly involved - she just seems psychotic. It's evident that the director simply lost control when Vardalos signed on. The tone is way off. Vardalos was clearly beyond taking any direction. The other actors are fine - and there is a nice relationship between the boy and his father. But Vandals is just unwatchable.
