Harry Coombes is a retired teacher in his 70s who has lived in the Upper West Side of New York City all his life. Very sweet little flick - It's a bit dated, but it's also bit timeless, so that's not really an issue. A bit of a cat and a curmudgeon theme. Reminds me a bit of Jim Jarmusch movies.

The best movie about old age, and one of the best road trip films you'll see. I'd argue it's not entirely standard structure, but it is a tight structure, and it makes it work. Absolutely charming.

Intriguing story from an old man's life.

Dennis Schwartz 29 Feb 2012

Affectionate but contrived odyssey folk tale.

The only problem with this movie is that there isn't a single scene that you may remember. But at the same time, you will like it more than you ever thought you could've. Oh, and that Art Carney guy does a great job acting in a real performance.
