Excellent, especially considering when it was made; I watched it in 2004. A meaningful, well-balanced story-line; good music, acting, dance, etc.

Absolutely perfect! I couldn't find anything that I didn't love about this film. King Khan gives an outstanding performance. I pretty much stayed on the edge of my seat during the entire thing, anticipating how it would turn out. Very heartwarming! And the songs especially (Chaiya Chaiya) were very memorable and I'm still humming the tune today!

Absolutely brilliant and so completely horrific. The train-top number and Preity's song debut both have to be seen to be believed: completely insane! Like all of Mani Ratnam's work, this is a difficult film, but the payoff is incredible.
