Hardware (1990)

Mark 13 is a government-built killing machine programmed with artificial intelligence, able to repair and recharge itself from any energy source. Through a series of coincidences, the cyborg's head ends up in the home of a sculptress as a bizarre Christmas present from her boyfriend. Once inside its new home, the cyborg promptly reconstructs the rest of its body using a variety of household utensils and proceeds to go on a murderous rampage.

"This is Angry Bob, comin' at you from W-A-R Radio! Rise and shine folks, it's a beautiful day! Just look at that sky. It's a work of art! Ha! Nature never knew colors like that! And a friendly reminder - when you look at it, be sure to wear your shades! The radiation count is way up and the heat wave ain't expected to let up, either. Weather Control tells us it'll probably hit 110 downtown before nightfall. As for the good news ... there is NO FUCKING GOOD NEWS! So let's rock with one of our golden oldies"

Another sleeper. One of my favorite sci-fi/post apoc movies. Solid cast and good story line.

Beautiful Blu Ray transfer to this classic Sci Fi Actioner. Director Richard Stanley's use of a red coler scheme looks amazing,and helps cover up the more bloody scenes. I loved this movie when it came out 19 years ago and it sure nice to see it lovelingly restored on Blu Ray. Smart violent and funny asit was back then. Also nice to see a movie that actually used visual effects rather then the CG that ruins all of todays movies.

Another one of those tricky sci-fi films that you either loved or really, really hated. I was always a fan and when a friend gave me the DVD I was just unbelievably excited, which just may say more about me then I really need it to.
