I personally am a big Tommy Steele fan and have adored this film ever since i was a child! Even had to get it imported as its not on UK DVD release! The songs are terrific

It just isn't very good. I've been involved in a different version of this show for a few months now, and watching this completely confused me as it's virtually a different story and show. And I do not prefer this version. Some songs just don't fit, and others don't even work in the film. It's too long, and gets a bit boring in places. Some characters could most definitely have been played better, and characters could have sung some of the songs better too. I didn't find it that harmful or infuriating, it just felt a little like wasted opportunity. It's not the best show in the world anyway, but it does have an audience, but even if the songs aren't the strongest, they can still be made into something great. And it just didn't work here. The ending was odd, and there were many moments that could have been cut or reduced. It just felt a little all over the place.

watched this when i was little...one of the last films me and my dad watched together...absolute sheer brilliance...loved the all singing all dancingness of everyone..
