American soldiers of the 2/3 Field Artillery, a group known as the "Gunners," tell of their experiences in Baghdad during the Iraq War. Holed up in a bombed out pleasure palace built by Sadaam Hussein, the soldiers endured hostile situations some four months after President George W. Bush declared the end of major combat operations in the country.

While the movie is watchable thanks to filmmaker's access to this army strange fort, the interviews of the soldiers don't realy provide any new insight or help in constructing chacacters out of these men.

This movie is sooooooo important right now. You shouldn't really talk about the soldiers in Iraq and what you think they are thinking until you see this.

I enjoyed it certainly gives u a good idea of what it's like over there. with some awesome guitar playing and rapping.

A great documentary which showed most of the events that take place in a daily life of a regular U.S. marine. Some of the brutalities of war were probably cut out but I guess that wasn't the point after all. What was the point was demonstrating the physical and mental hell that comes with being a marine in the modern Iraq war. And based on my knowledge of past war films and soldiers of militaries they will be as unappreciated after the war as they are currently in it. Whether or not the Iraq war is neccesary I still can't say for certain; although I do lean on the pro-war side. It seems that in the end its not whether the war should have been fought or not but how it was fought. So, whatever levels of intelligence these soldiers possess I just hope they are fighting justly and morally.

Directors Michael Tucker and Petra Epperlein have crafted an unusual documentary that chronicles life at Gunner Palace in Iraq from the point of view of the US troops. Some of the most powerful moments have to do with segments showing off the rapping skills of some of the troops. They're piercing and full of commentary.
