Filmed in Tracadie/Shelia (& Moncton) N.B., 30 mins from my cottage...awesome. The credits looked like just like the Bathurst phonebook.. Chaisson, Cormier, Cormier, Cormier,.. Soundtrack has alot of N.S. artists. Matt Mays @ El Torpedo, Joel Plaskett ... Not a bad comedy. It's no "Three O'Clock High (1987)", but it's cool seeing a good movie made in the Maritimes, but has no maritime content. It looked more like the midwest US, or California.

18 year Quinn rebels against his loving, pot growing, unschooling parents by falling for the girl next door and enrolling himself in the local high school. Then things get weird. A quirky, funny, and at times touching movie that questions if the pot smoking hippie unschoolers are really the weird one.

Growing Op strains hard to deliver edgy humour with a dollop of heart but is too stilted and derivative to carry it off.

Good idea executed poorly. Story about a home schooled teen who decides to goto public school in his senior year. Its fairly dull from start to finish. The idea of having parents who grow weed as a career is fun but the director did a terrible job with it. Don't waste your time with this movie.
