Freemont Gordon isn't passionate about his successful job as an architect in Los Angeles. After turning 30, he finds his job isn't enough, so he quits and takes a road trip—and along the way meets some amazing and generous people. Freemont shows his thanks for their hospitality by building secret tree houses for the families in the hope of giving their kids fun places to play. Ultimately, he finds that doing what he loves—is what matters most.

I recently told a friend about a screenwriter I know who keeps a file of potential scenes. When he hits a rough spot in a new script he looks through the file to find a solution. The cocept for The Gordon Family Tree is great, but I fear the file of potential scenes would be empty by half way through. In addition to a thin story, the score was poorly mixed, in many scenes it overpowered the dialogue. If this were re-edited and remixed into a 45-60 minute short, it could likely win more recognizable film awards.

I am moved to tears every time I watch this. I worked on this film and am biased- but I seriously cry every time out of the 30 times I've seen it!

Was so refreshing to watch a movie without a bunch of explosions and violence and foul language. AND that had an actual plot with a surprising and tear jerking ending. For the 40 and over crowd... drop the kids off to watch "Guardians of the Galaxy" then go home and watch this movie. Believe me, you'll be a lot better off.
