Great film. Don't miss it. Funny and poignant full of insight into life, marriage, divorce, and raising kids. Perfectly pitched understated performance by Paul Schneider anchors a stellar cast. Great screenplay finds the humor and sadness in life in the twenty-first century.

It had its moments. A couple of laughs here are there, but slow moving. It's about a series of relationships and when he was saying good bye at the end....I really didn't know who he was saying good bye too. They didn't build that up enough to have a good payoff. It didn't matter though because I probably wouldn't have been interested in it anyway. Most of the actors/actresses had zero charisma.

It's frustrating when Goodbye to All That runs up against the guardrail, but I'm glad to report it never derails.

The title indicates a major transition, but despite assertions that the dissolution of a marriage is a life-altering event, divorce doesn't change Otto as much as rouse him from stupefaction, and Schneider deftly balances bewilderment with resolve.

Otto Wall, the protagonist of Goodbye to All That, is well-meaning, clumsy and a little dull. The movie embodies his character perfectly.
