Writer David Stenn stumbled across the shocking story of Patricia Douglas and MGM around the time he was finishing his biography of Jean Harlow, and he immediately sprang into action.

I am trying to only review the movies as I see them (first or again), but saw this listing and couldn't help it. This is another great subject documentary that got lucky with some points (interviews in this case), but needed a better filmmaker. Still, see it. It is very intriguing.

david stenn creates a labor of love in searching for the truth about 'girl 27' and doggedly pursuing pat douglas. it once again affirms to me how grateful i am to grow up in our times today...back then women had it really hard!

what an amazing documentary. david stenn is a very determine young mman who besides being a great screen writer is also a determine man to come out and find the real girl 27 and relate with now-a-days lawyers and see what would had happen if the case was tired today. it is amazing how such a large movie corporation like MGM was able to coverup a rape of a dancer in 193 and was able to buy out everyone involved including the girl's family. it is uplifting and sad documentary but very realitizist. aq must see especially if you love true life documentaries.

great documentary about an untold story of old Hollywood. The filmmaker plays detective and doesn't give up until he unturns every rock to expose this ugly event at MGM. Great archival footage serves as both evidence and to set the scene of the time.
