This movie was largely ignored due to the success of My Left Foot. Awesome chick flick!

Very good film about a woman who has cerebral palsy and pretty much can only communicate with her left foot (sound familiar?). But it's pretty much a whole different approach to My Left Foot (and preceeded it). The acting is excellent all around, Liv Ullmann and Robert Loggia are great as Gaby's parents, Norm Aleandro (in her Oscar nominated performance) is perfect as Gaby's nanny and the woman who is around her pretty much her whole life, and Rachel Levin is amazing at the title characters (especially considered she isn't handicapped in real life). I really loved the relationship with Gaby to the other characters, especially to Lawrence Monoson (who was also incredible and non handicapped) as her boyfriend. I felt the film lost some of its power after the boyfriend left. But it's still a very good film and I'm glad I caught it.
