Draggy and one-note, [Freetown is] an indie more interested in reaffirming Mormon dogma than in delivering compelling drama.

Powerful. You'd have to hate Mormons an awful lot to not like this movie.

This movie is well worth seeing. I have now seen it twice and just bought 6 more tickets today to take some friends on Saturday to it. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

What an amazing movie experience! Not only a great production, a road movie for the entire family, a touchy, uplifting story about friendship, faith and hope overcoming huge struggles. I served in Africa and learned to love that people so much, the movie was like a blast from the past, a time travel that let me saw and remember how strong are the people and missionaries from that great continent. Great score, impeccable cinematography and a magnificent cast makes this movie exceptional specially for translating a small piece of Africa to the screen!

Despite the storyline's inherent drama, the meandering Freetown, much like the characters it depicts, takes far too long to get to its destination.
