Does the world really need a Kevin Smith movie ripoff? Or, to be more precise, does it need to be a failed attempt at one? Freeloaders lacks character, acting ability, humor, and charm. What it does have is wasted talent. For example, not even Olivia Munn can save this dreary movie. And even when you have Dave Foley in a cameo appearance, that scene is nowhere near funny. In fact, that's basically this whole movie. It is a giant waste of time and talent. But, there are movies about slackers that are funny (wasn't there a movie like this called Clerks?), but Freeloaders is not that movie. It is not the worst comedy film, but it definitely isn't a good movie and leaves you wondering what these actors were thinking to be involved in a project like this.

It is a terrible movie. The story is completely bad, as it the dialogue, acting, comedy, the whole nine yards are just bad. The only salvation is the brief appearance by the Broken Lizard crew. With Clifton Collins Jr I was hoping for a whole lot more in the overall film, but it does not measure to any thing more than hopes.

Not bad, and much better than I expected. Seems like your typical slacker-stoner movie, and in many respects it is. However, there are some great comedic moments, it never takes itself seriously, and doesn't overstay its welcome. Main cast are mostly unknowns, and give decent performances. The supporting cast are great though, as that is where all the big names are. Jane Seymour does well as the villain of the piece. A pity Olivia Munn is only in the movie for the first few scenes. For a seemingly obscure B-grade movie, it does feature many celebrities appearing as themselves: Adam Duritz (who also produced the movie), Denise Richards, Dave Foley and Sir Richard Branson.

Don't let the fact that this movie is Produced by the same people who made Super Troopers fool you. Freeloaders has one scene with the Broken Lizard gang and that part is the funniest in the whole film. The main cast is a weird group of actors that never seem to click together. The film tried to get you to care for a relationship being formed and for this group of friends who are being kicked out of their rockstar buddies mansion because he is selling it. Nothing really worked in this one and for this being a straight up comedy, the laughs were few and far between. While it has a couple good moments you should stay away from this one because it does not even come close to anything that Broken Lizard has put out before.
