Not my usual cup of tea at all, and remains so unfortunately. I quickly became infuriated with the 'stay out of my way' chatter to the camera, which I found grating and repetitive. What repels or entertains is the gore and disregard for life. The 'Zombies' where passable, but nothing we've not seen in videogames ( ie Bioshock ) or steampunk many times before, but they would often flail about infront of the cameraman for ages without his sustaining any injury (?) Well done on the budget, but this was so by the numbers. Easily pleased genre fans only need apply.

Richard Raaphorst created a stunner of a movie that had everyone at Frighfest cheering when they try to 'remove the helmet'. The monsters are great, especially the 'R2D2 from hell'. The POV camera angle takes a little getting use to at the outset as it's rather shaky, but when that's out of the way it's a seriously good film. During Q&A after the screening at Frightfest Richard Raaphorst suggested he may look at doing a sequal to Frankenstein's Army, but I'd rather see this as a stand alone film. This was certainly in my top 6 films at Frightfest.

Blair Witch has a lot to answer for in introducing the "found footage" idea to the movies. Here is another one, but at least this one is so bad it"s funny.

A very mental horror film centered around a battalion of Russian soldiers and a propaganda film maker for the Russian Army out to film the end of the Nazi regime. They end up lost and come across a village steeped in death and gore, but then they find something even worse.....a mad Nazi scientist has created an army of soldiers created with a mix of flesh and machine. Highly original creations that are just bizarre. The film as a whole is just vividly imaginative and wild with some good gore and comical performances. It has to be seen to be believed. Check it out.

It's a bravura if deeply silly demonstration of what clever moviemakers can do on meager resources.
