This is a truly macabre little number. Leon works in a crematorium attached to a hospital and has an obsession with a nurse there who he saw violently raped. He begins to sedate her and then breaks into her house each night to do the housework (he sews buttons; fixes a clock and even cleans up after a birthday party he wasn't invited to). But things don't turn out for the best. This is Polish cinema for you - in a dark, funny and yet restrained film.

A well directed story, but something was nevertheless missing. Why does current Polish cinema continuously focus on the seriousness of things to the point of exaggeration? Don't expect any humor or a spark of hope in this one...

Desde 1991 que el director polaca SKOLIMOWSKI no filma, salvo pequeÃ±os roles actorales en films como MARS ATTACKS! o EASTERN PROMISES. El film narra la historia de ARTUR, un hombre de extrema timidez, encerrado en sus inhibiciones de comportamiento. Un dÃa presencia una violaciÃ³n, ante la cual se queda estupefacto y sin saber cÃ³mo reaccionar, huye, siendo luego acusado y condenado injustamente por el acto. ARTUR vive cercanamente a una habitaciÃ³n del hospital donde trabaja ANNA, con quien mantendrÃ¡ una relaciÃ³n de voyerismo al introducirse en dicho cuarto cuatro dias sin que ANNA dÃ© cuenta de su presencia. El clima del film crea un suspenso constante, por momentos un poco desgastante. 6/10
