A typical, sentimental small-town family melodrama of the 1930s, with one exception: John Garfield in a stunning screen debut as a brooding outsider.

My favorite of the Lane Sisters' films. Absolutely charming! I love the casting of Claude Rains as the frustrated father.

This one starts out really nice and seemingly predictable and then gets turned upside down by Mickey Borden (John Garfield). I loved it, and love Claude Rains. All of the sisters are pretty great too. Good casting.

The very impacting film debut for John Garfield who was in many ways ahead of his time with his honest & raw performance. The simple story of Four Daughters who are all musicians and a love triangle develops with a twist. Priscilla Lane is by far the loveliest of the sisters, she is not only stunning but has a warm presence on the screen. Although a nice Hollywood Film in many aspects it's a little edgy for its time & is really propelled by its performances.
