This insightful excavation of a husband and wife is a ready post-screening argument-starter ... In Turist, the Swedes don't hold back; the dirty laundry is aired out for all to see and smell.

Absolutely brilliant. I'm so happy i didn't choose a flick from the top box office list. Seriously, one of the best movies this film snob has seen in maybe 10 years. TOTALLY snubbed for the oscar. I can't understand why.

It's similar to 2011's "The Loneliest Planet," which examined a similar dynamic between a couple backpacking in the Caucasus Mountains. But Force Majeure (which, as a legal term, refers to unforeseeable events or "acts of God") is sharper and smarter, combining precision-strike storytelling, directorial art, and impressive, often invisible visual effects, including that avalanche scene.

Another genius sign of the brilliant zeitgeist in cinema internationally in 2014, when the best films have never been smarter. Though wildly different in so many ways, this film reminded me of the tour de force genius of Birdman. Both films are so smart, both films are made with unbelievable precision in every aspect of their craft, both are gorgeous, both come very close to tragedy, and both films pull back from the edge, because going over would be a dumb cliche both films are too starkly smart, honest, and realistic about life to entertain.

La inmensidad de la belleza natural se fortalece con la idea de la inmensidad dentro de las relaciones y el mundo interior.
