A very interesting documentary about ballet and how dreams are built around it.

If you have a yearning to feel awkward, inadequate and lazy, watching the whirling teenage (and preteen) talents in director Bess Kargman's First Position will do the trick.

Stunning. Invigorating. Dramatic. Compelling. Awe-inspiring. A performers dream come true. Dumb cover pic tho - Absolutely Any performance here would have served a better choice. For some magnetic reason, I am personally drawn in and fulfilled, and something is completed and satisfied in me from simply watching this. I am truly taken aback. Sheer magic. See it.

Never in a million years would I have thought I'd enjoy a movie on ballet, BUT I have nothing but the utmost respect for these half dozen extreme athletes, boys & girls 9 - 17, that compete in ballet at the highest levels - They are astronauts with the right stuff! There is absolutely nothing in this documentary that is "boring" or "gay" & I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! It is one of those rare diamonds in the dirt that I discover 2 - 3 times a year. 5*****
