American spy steals Russian jet.... that's all I got to say about this kick ass flick. I don't mind remakes because they introduce older stories to a younger audience...... When are we going to remake some Clint classics?

Excellent movie for aircraft buffs in the 80s. Faster than a Blackbird, with missles and thought activated rear firing stingers. Something like the aircraft version of 'The Hunt for Red October".

When I saw this as a kid, I was disappointed. It was too long, and too boring for me as a 14 year old. I was drawn in by all the fancy flying in the trailer, but it took sooooo long to get there. I picked it up for about $5 or so in a used DVD shop a while back and watched it. Much better... I can now appreciate the suspense and the buildup,

I came in fully expecting one of Clint's corny early actioners, yet from the first frame it plunges in with bullet-paced tension executed with nothing more than masterful, imaginative, rhythmic editing. It continues as one of Clint's most dynamically and deliberately cinematic directorial efforts, a tense and dense thriller of consistent visual wit and stark, tireless pace.
