Fair Haven (2017)

After a long stint in gay conversion therapy, James, a young piano prodigy, returns home to his family farm and his emotionally-distant father, Richard. After Richard pressures James to give up his music career and take over the farm, James agrees as a way to make up for his past. Soon, however, James finds himself face-to-face with a former lover, Charlie, who wants to help him turn away from his new beliefs and family expectations and follow his dreams of studying music.

It’s a testament to Jack Bryant’s lovely script and Kerstin Karlhuber’s thoughtful direction that this controversial concept is handled with such even-handedness and grace.

This is a great movie which helps to open minds and understanding. It's about a young man who just comes back from a 'cure' he had to undergo because he's gay. Then he struggles with life and his father -- however he never completely forgets about his ex boyfriend. The story and the whole actors are amazing. The director Kerstin Karlhuber offers us a must-see movie which is so useful nowadays. Lots of finesse and pertinence here. Humor is also present, which is a good thing. Watching this geat movie is highly recommended to avoid hate, misunderstanding and social withdrawal. And it's a perfect demonstration that gay love is not a 'disease' -- it's Love!

I totally enjoyed this film. I can't believe that it was only short in 14 days? it has the feel of a big budget film. i like where it happened, as if i can smell the fresh air. i wonder what it will feel like when it rains in that small town. this film reminded me of the novel "a separate peace". pure love, pure youth, it feels like a piece of me has forever lived with those people in that small town.
