Extraordinary Measures (2010)

Working-class father John Crowley is finally on the fast track to corporate success when his two young children are diagnosed with Pompe disease—a condition that prevents the body from breaking down sugar. With the support of his wife, John ditches his career and teams with unconventional specialist, Dr. Robert Stonehill to found a bio-tech company and develop a cure in time to save the lives of his children. As Dr. Stonehill works tirelessly to prove the theories that made him the black sheep of the medical community, a powerful bond is forged between the two unlikely allies.

wow, this movie was really well done. i can't understand why this movie got bad reviews. i believe that this is a fairly accurate portrayal of what some real-life families go thru. i'd highly recommend seeing this one.

This is a great movie for the whole family to watch. It is about a father trying to find a cure for a disease and goes to great lengths to find it. And it's all a true story

It seems there's one jackass doctor for every desperate father in America.

Wow! This is a GREAT movie. One of the best I've ever seen! Way better than I expected. Fraser, Ford and the little girl Droeger all gave outstanding performances. Fraser was perfect as the father. This is the best work I've ever seen from him. He did a great job conveying the emotions of a father who knows he could lose his children at any moment, but is determined to save their lives at all costs. Meredith Droeger was adorable! Remember that name. The kid's got major talent. Ford was outstanding also. He nailed the role of a grumpy, anti-social scientist. That's the character and Ford nailed it. I want to see it again! This is a movie with a perfect script, perfect cast, and perfect acting. I love movies that show the good side of humanity. Great entertainment based on a TRUE STORY. Beautiful movie! I give it 5 stars. My new favorite movie! Go see it now!
