Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post-hurricane New Orleans to the separation barrier on the Palestinian West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film. Exit Through the Gift Shop tells the incredible true story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner.

This is one of the best documentaries about contemporary art that I've ever seen. It's both very entertaining and highly educational at the same time.

The art world is always having to re-evalute what art is exactly... After this film the question must be asked again. The answer in this film is that art can be anything at all... as long at it's seen through a particular perspective.

Unexpectedly a flat-out awesome movie. There isn't a single 5-minute stretch that is not interesting. It is an example of its own theme. The concluding scenes still make me laugh to think about them. It's a documentary about a guy who tries to make a documentary - or, it's a complete work of fiction. Doesn't really matter.

Easily the most entertaining documentary I have seen, so much so, that I have given it many repeat viewings. The documentary centers around a man by the name of Thierry Guetta, a Frenchman living in Los Angeles who. discovers the underground world of "street art" and features appearances by many guerrilla artists including Banksy, Ron English, and Shepard Fairey. I highly recommend this film, even if the main focus of the film is a bit of a famewhore.
