23 ans après Dazed and Confused, Richard Linklater retourne à son adolescence avec l'excellent Everybody Wants Some!!, une comédie hilarante et passionnante sur une équipe de baseball à la fac. Comme d'habitude, ce que filme Linklater respire tellement le vrai et le vécu que cela en devient presque bouleversant par moments. Interprété par une belle bande d'acteurs en devenir (Glen Powell, Wyatt Russell & Austin Amelio sont clairement au-dessus du lot) et perclus de scènes mythiques (une jolie interprétation de Rapper's Delight par exemple), Everybody Wants Some!! est un délice deux heures durant, un modèle du coming-of-age movie dans lequel Linklater, en bon grand frère, distille quelques leçons de vie assez marquantes. Everybody Wants Some!! offre pour l'instant les deux heures les plus fun au cinéma en 2016. A voir absolument.

My favorite Richard Linklater movie and that's a tall order, having loved Slacker and Boyhood and so much inbetween. Everybody Wants Some seems to be the most approachable. Each of the characters had their bits. I'm making a list of favorite quotes starting with these from Plummer Sharks have tails. Cats aren't supposed to be in the refrigerator. There are people here. Bonus points for the Carl Sagan shoutouts.
