I cant believe i had nether seen or heard of this film before, it has more innuendo than a dale winton and julian clarrey civil partnership. a very fun film which will have you cringeing with delight, briliantly bizare in places especially where mr sloan is trying to seduce ed, and also when he is doing sit ups on gravestones. a fantastic film which deserves more exposure than its had. Also the sound track is fantastic with the catchy jingle 'Entertaining Mr Sloan' being repeated through out the film.

Despite the cheerful crudity of much of its humour, its jabs at middle class hypocrisy are often as subtle as they are pointed; there is much in this that was personal to Orton and it was his strongest suit as a writer.

the best adaptation of an Orton play into a movie well there was only two this and Loot. It's the most queasy inducing movie about a randy sister who has designs on her new lodger who has a dark secret, and Mr Sloane who takes it turns to play both her and her brother against each other who also has designs on him. Bi-sexuality, murder, and raging nymphomania its a must if you like your humour on the dark side. Joe Orton got bludgeoned to death by his boyfriend in 1967, which in it's way is very Orton-esce.

Not unlike the other British films SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE and BRIMSTONE AND TREACLE, as well as Pasolini's TEOREMA, Joe Orton's story of a stranger invading a household is amusing and upsetting. It also contains an ingratiating theme by Georgie Fame.

A great play which wasn't adapted in any way for the screen. Tut tut. Bit eerie having Joe Orton's name floating over gravestones at the start
