Dying Breed (2008)

An extinct species, the Tasmanian tiger. A long-forgotten legend, "The Pieman" aka Alexander Pearce, who was hanged for cannibalism in 1824. Both had a desperate need to survive; both could have living descendants within the Tasmanian bush. Four hikers venture deep into isolated territory to find one of these legends, but which one will they come upon first?

Although the plot is very familiar, it is done well and it has suspense. The score is fine, good photography. The setting is effective and the acting is fine. The main flaw is predictability.

Typical storyline to many other horror films where a group of young people end up in the middle of nowhere and crazy inhabitants decide to kill/eat them. Too much like 'Hills Have Eyes' and 'Road Kill' or 'Wrong Turn' so nothing very new except that they hyped it up by the Tasmanian-history involved

Australian horror flick about inbred cannibals and the supposedly-extinct Tasmania Tiger. Has some spectacular visuals and nice horror atmosphere, but overall quite tedious and cliche-ridden.

Petit survival qui passe de banal Ã limite brutal quand arrivent les cannibales (toutes proportions gardÃ©es hein?!). Ca casse pas forcÃ©ment trois pattes Ã un canard mais ca reste du film plutÃ´t bien troussÃ©, sans rÃ©elle fausse note pour le genre et ca se suit plutÃ´t bien...
