Double Whammy (2001)

Ray Pluto has many problems. He is satirized in the tabloids as the "loser cop." His partner is starting to seem suspiciously attracted to him. A pair of screenwriters across the hall keep bugging him for help. The superintendent of his building is stabbed by hoodlums hired by his own rebellious daughter. To top it off, a sexually aggressive chiropractor may just be Ray's undoing.

Certainly not a great film, but very underrated. I thought it was very funny. Offbeat, but very funny.

This is supposed to be a comedy but it wasn't that great. Denis Leary plays a cop with a bad back. While in a fast food place a robbery takes place but when he reaches for his gun his back gives out and the gun goes flying towards a young kid who ends up using it to foil the robbery, obviously Leary is publicly embarassed from the stint and goes on leave and for chiropractic therapy with Hurley. The rest of the movie is about them falling for each other while some gang thing is going on. Buscemi plays his partner and from the beginning is (sexually confused) and attracted to leary which is some of the funnier parts of this movie. Not bad but not great.

A meddled mess of stories that manage to bump into each other, but fail to connect in any coherent manner. Leary offered up a lackluster lead and Buscemi's character was so poorly written that he never had a chance. DiCillo definitely disappointed in this one. At least we had Elizabeth Hurley to gaze at for a few scenes. I rate this 42/100 Review # 10

Crazy and funny situations comedy:) I like performance by Denis, Steve and Elizabeth and I love the soundtrack. It's just great!
