Dog Bite Dog (2006)

A young Cambodian man who has been trained to fight for money in his country is hired to kill someone in Hong Kong. He performs the hit and then flees from Hong Kong police, who are wrestling with internal problems of a model cop and his son, who is also on the force and who was told by his dad not to become a police officer.

This movie is very dull, it tries to give the hue of Jet Li's Unleashed, yet is a dull and inconsequential rip off. The directing is fairly good, but the final product is unfortunately a waist of time.

Who knew an officer could lose his sanity and become a monster and a killer could change from animal to hero? Disturbing and with emotional substance.

Wow, this was really dark. There's all these really dark themes here. The acting was ok but I didn't really see anything special. The plot is a bit strange. I didn't buy the whole idea of Edison Chen meeting this girl and then having a love relationship with her coz when he first meets her, it's more of an older brother relationship. Really poorly handled. I guess some of the violence is entertaining. They have some really creative deaths here. People who love blood and gore should like this. The characters aren't all interesting, but some have unique backgrounds that I really liked. So, I guess this is a bit scary in a way, but when you finish watching it, you won't really feel like it was that great. I disgustingly enjoyed it.

Cruel, sadistic and without hope...but purposely so. Edison Chen and Sam Lee throw themselves into their roles begging the audience to see them not as HK teeny boppers, but as living, breathing character actors. It works for the most part (except for the faltering last act), but some time should have been spent asking the same question you will have when the credits roll. What was the point?
