Dior and I won’t tell you much about Simons’ personal life, or his family, or where he lives, or why he does this, which ultimately makes it difficult to connect with him. (Interestingly, a little online research reveals, he started out as a furniture designer.)

I read a story in the LA Times about this movie and it piqued my interest. It was only playing in one theater, so on Sunday we went to the Nuart in West LA. Except for what I'd read in the Times I had no idea what to expect. This movie was fabulous! It gave me an insider's perspective of what goes into the creation and roll-out of a new fashion line. Two big thumbs up!

The spectacle of highly competent professionals going about their work is always absorbing, and Simons is an interesting man: reticent, calm, shy, intensely focused but apparently never losing control until the end.
