a good documentary that clearly shows where detroit is now and how the city is up against a lot, it doesn't get too bogged down in politics though it deals with the issues of how detroit got that way in a fairly adequate way. In the midst of all these problems, there are many who see detroit as an opportunity especially artists and the urban farming movement that is doing positive things with the many empty lots.

A valiant effort documenting the collapse of an american city, but poorly executed. There is little here that isn't done as well or better not to mention more concisely by, "Roger and Me" by michael moore over a decade ago. Most of this is now old news & we overstand what has happened & continues to happen in cities across this country. The narrative interviews are strangely restricted to only TWO people, primarily, and even the faint glimmer of hope in the closing scenes is not enough to salvage the city, or this documentary. Look elsewhere.

Moving from union hall to town hall, from brutal salary negotiations to contentious plans to create urban farms out of concrete wasteland, the film listens and moves on.

Interesting and well-shot, but kind of disorganized. For example, footage of 1967 riot with no commentary linking it to current problems. No discussion of globalization. But still important cautionary tale re decline of city with disappearance of middle class. Sad to hear corporation not care if employees can live on their wage. Also sad to see people holding on to past, refusing to consider changes probably necessary to move forward.
