Is there love after death? I find myself thinking about this movie every few months as I think about the afterlife. While it's kind of clunky in spots, the fact that this film is still in my head after almost 20 years requires a 5-star rating for me.

This film is totally not what I expected. I knew it was about the afterlife or what Albert Brook's version of the afterlife would be. It was a very inventive idea and I think that it worked very nicely! Albert Brooks himself is hilarious and Meryl Streep is wonderful as usual. Rip Torn is absolutely hilarious as well. I sort of knew the premise, but I didn't realize the scope of what it held. Please check this film out!! (Don't take as long as I did to finally see and enjoy it)

One of my guilty pleasures. I never get sick of this movie. :) I really love the concept -- how every decision you make in your life, no matter how small, ultimately decides whether or not you were the best person *you* could be, whether or not you're worthy to move on, in a sense, after death or endure another lifetime on this planet in an attempt to get it right -- that it has nothing to do with what god you pray to.
