Just awesome! Unexpected ending, increrible plot, and perfect Ryuk! I thought it was bad until i watched it. Doesnt match too much with the anime, but still very good. Waiting for Death Note 2!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Despite its shortfalls, it is one of the better attempts at an Americanized version of a Japanese Anime. The story would have been better served as a series, as opposed to a single installment. I am patiently waiting for the story for continue.

I give 10 to raise the overall score, normally I would have put 7. This bashing is really ridiculous. Adam Wingard did a very good job compared to the constraint of the duration of the movie. The actors are good even if L is not well exploited. Too bad the end is a bit wobbly. I think there was better to be done than this big-wheel story. The end is open to let glimpse a sequel, but I'm afraid that Death Note in movie stop there: - / This version will still have the merit to make the spectators want to watch the anime.
