havent seen this movie in years and after watching it again i found it a tad boring and stiff at parts ... its a fun timepiece movie of the regan era and the arms race but it lacks overall check out spies like us

Here's relic not worth revisiting. Strange film in the respect that it doesn't quite want to be a drama, and hasn't the laughs to be a full fledged comedy. Did Chevy even read the script before signing on to do this one? He did some bad films after leaving Saturday Night Live, and this one tops the crap-heap. Even Sigourney Weaver's appearance can't help this lame turkey. Skip it.

So under rated. If you can find it anywhere to rent it's a miracle. It's not that expensive to buy and it's well worth it. You have to really pay attention to absorb the humour as it does have some dark war/weapons/power themes. I guess that's what makes the light parts so funny. Gregory Hines is classic, it's a shame he's no longer with us.

41/100. Disappointing misfire, too bad, it has a terrific cast. Sigourney Weaver is the only bright spot in this movie however. It's just not that funny, it's pacing is very uneven, as are the laughs. It's not without a few good scenes, but as a whole it just doesn't work. It could have been a funny and biting satire, but is instead an oafish slapstick comedy with extreme characters and situations.
