Pretty decent disaster flick from the Sci-Fi channel about an asteroid on a collision course with earth. The military have developed a laser with the capabilities of blowing up the asteroid, sadly they refuse to believe that the asteroid will actually hit the earth. Que a couple of scientists and a couple of discharged soldiers to break into the military complex that holds the laser and to save the day. Usually the problem with these films are the awful acting ans special effects, thankfully the acting from most is quite good and there is limited special effects. The plot moves along at a good pace and is never boring, the break into the military compound is entertaining but admittedly the slight sense of believability goes completely out the window at the end. If you don't sit there and try to pick holes in the plot then Force of Impact is an entertaining little romp that's a good way to waste 90 minutes on a Sunday.

Ok movie about a group of scientists who find out that there is a meteor going to hit Earth in one day. They hunt down a former Army Lt. who worked on a laser beam that could destroy the meteor. Only problem is he was kicked out of the military for being gay.

Are people [i]paid[/i] to make flicks this cheap?? Cheap, cheesey, and cliched. The script is something I could've come up when I was a toddler, and the acting is somewhere out of the bottom of the bargain bin. I could go on for a while, but I think you get the idea. Some elements that give it the extra star include: some ok music, so-so props, and some acceptable camera work. None of those do much however to elevate this one out of the 'good coffee coaster' catagory.

Very ordinary movie with a used plot done often before. Cliche ridden but is helped by the presence of Rae Dawn Chong. Fair special effects, but not much else.
