Kate Bowman (Jocelin Donahue) is an average social worker who, after the sudden death of her twin sister, is investigating the mysterious deaths of other people who died in their sleep. Shortly before their deaths, the victims all reported a supernatural force that appeared to them while they were suffering from sleep paralysis. When Kate investigates further into the case, she opens herself up to the creature's wrath and soon finds herself and her family suffering from an ancient evil.

Given this is one of the first movies that we can think of that covers sleep-paralysis in such detail, it should be fresh and invigorate the genre, instead it plods along ticking off all the expected, but uninteresting, boxes.

the hag was well done. Concept is good. With a larger budget it would have been incidious type of series could have expanded on the Dream state more like the shower scene. Wasn't as bad as the "pro critics" are claiming. Goosebumps for sure

Dead Awake is an interesting concept of a movie.. based in sleep paralysis..and while at first it comes off slightly contrived, it does have legitimate scares and at cast of characters that are actually grounded and believable while not becoming caricatures of themselves..found myself rooting for the lead actress by the end..Not as bad as some of the pros may say...well worth actress watch
