Dark Remains (2005)

After their daughter is brutally murdered in their home, a grieving young couple, Allena and Julie Pkye; escape the city to find solace in the mountains. Julie photographs an abandoned prison she finds in the woods. Upon developing the prints, she becomes convinced her dead daughter is contacting her through the photographs.

Quite a scary little film this surprisingly. The story may be weak and the lead actors lack a little enthusiasm, but there are a couple of really scary moments in this. The ghosts look creepy as hell and are used effectively throughout the film to get the heart-racing and spine-tingling. The setting of the film in a cabin up in a mountain also generates an eerie atmosphere in itself. I don't gaurantee it'll scare everyone, but it worked for me and from what reviews I've read I'm not the only one.

I was disappointed with this one. We watched it a second time to fill in pieces that didn't fit the first time. Would watch it again, but it's not as exciting as I had hoped.

This was a great movie, everyone in Floyd County needs to see this movie, it is really scary, good, and somewhat based on true stories

Not the most original story and fairly flimsy ending, but it was well-shot and I enjoyed it.

i know the leading lady has just lost her daughter but there's a difference in being depressed and acting depressed badly - terrible acting
