Confessions of a Superhero (2007)

CONFESSIONS OF A SUPERHERO is a feature length documentary chronicling the lives of three mortal men and one woman who make their living working as superhero characters on the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard. This deeply personal view into their daily routines reveals their hardships, and triumphs, as they pursue and achieve their own kind of fame. The Hulk sold his Super Nintendo for a bus ticket to LA; Wonder Woman was a mid-western homecoming queen; Batman struggles with his anger, while Superman's psyche is consumed by the Man of Steel. Although the Walk of Fame is right beneath their feet, their own paths to stardom prove to be a long, hard climbs.

I am always interested in lives of people we only see one side of, often in public, so this was definitely my movie. I actually met The Hulk at Wizard World I think before I even heard of the film. Very intriguing documentary. These are some unique people and I will never look at someone dressed in a costume charging people for taking pictures with them the same again! Great documentary.

My hat is off to Matt Ogens for making a documentary on a very interesting subject. My favorite documentaries are ones that look at subcultures in America that most of us are unaware even exist. While I'm sure most of us are aware that there are a ton of out-of-work actors in Hollywood, I never knew how many of them choose to make their bread while on the quest for a coveted film role. This is definately one worth seeking out (especially for all you Superman fans out there).

Great documentary about a group of poeple trying to make it in Hollywood. I gotta give everyone in the film credit because they are alot braver than I am, esp to the incredible hulk. That kid is crazy. And I am in love with Jennifer Gerht. This movie is alittle of everything; funny, thoughtful, and can be very sad at times. A very well done documentary.
