A woman unable to conceive with her husband has a fling with a drifter and, whatdya know, gets pregnant. Unfortunately the stranger will go to any lengths to prove he is the father. Beautifully filmed in some bleak Australian locations, this takes a long time to get to the meat of the story and unfortunately by that time interest has started to wane

Coffin Rock is a psychological thriller set in Australia. This dreary landscape is a excellent choice for the somber and disturbing movie that it soon wraps you up in. Jessie and Tony a married couple are trying to conceive a child are having trouble due to fertility problems. During a drunken binge Jessie has sex with a co-worker and her life begins to spin out of control. The co-worker turns out to be a psychopath and stalks her while trying to remove anyone standing between them when he comes to believe she is pregnant with his child. Then Jessie must do everything in her power to get her life back and stay alive. Although this has been told in many ways before this was a nice take on an old story. I have seen so many better thrillers in my day and get board with them easily but this was a good watch. It starts out slow but wraps up nicely. Not bad if I say so myself.

Robert Glasson's film is well-shot and directed, and more than decently acted. As a genre movie, it suffices.

Gripping Australian â??from hellâ?? thriller, that generates a low-key air of menace and makes good use of its remote location. Hardly essential, but certainly worth a look if you like that sort of thing.
