this is not a horror movie, this is a triller and it is a decent one too.

Werid and creepy. It is real low budget, no crazy special effects or a truck full of fake blood. Just your basic scared factor from a pyscho stalking kid. Ti all seemed to happen to fast, the tension could have been built much more by keeping the audience hanging. A vivious attack on a kangaroo blew the story open within a few minutes, once we knew he was a psycho, it wasnt that exciting anymore.

Can I just say that, in amongst what has been an outstanding Leeds Film festival this year, I expect 'Coffin Rock' to be the worst film I shall see in 2009. I am intending to see Nic Cage in 'Bad Lieutenant - Port of Call New Orleans' so obviously the jury is very much still out on this one. The bunny-boiling cod-Irish emo boy talking to his dead dad on disconnected phones didn't come across as scary, just as someone you'd dearly like to slap. The scene where he took out his rejection frustrations on his pet kangaroo was unintentionally hilarious and provided the statutory pet animal massacre shockarama this kind of nonsense demands. Like a bad tv movie with added violence.
